  1. JURY PROTOCOL FROM THE CHOIR COMPETITION, 
    which took place in Bielsko-Biała on October 21, 2023, 
    as part of the 18th International Choir Festival "Gaude Cantem"

 

Jury consisting of:

After listening to eleven choirs participating in the competition in the following categories: children's choirs, academic choirs, chamber choirs, mixed choirs, and senior choirs, the Jury presents the following results:

 

  1. The "Sitanianie" Choir from Sitaniec, conducted by Irena Dużyńska, received a bronze diploma in the senior choir category (65 points).
  2. The Choir "AKORD" from Żywiec, conducted by Sebastian Niemczycki, received a bronze diploma in the senior choir category (62 points).
  3. The "THE G SINGERS" Choir from Grudziądz, conducted by Aleksandra Drozdecka, received a bronze diploma in the mixed choir category (72 points).
  4. The "HARFA" Men's Choir from Bielsko-Biała, conducted by Bogdan Deson, received a silver diploma in the senior choir category (75 points).
  5. The Choir of the State Music School of the 1st degree from Olesno, directed by Justyna Kunicka, received a silver diploma in the children's choir category (88 points).
  6. The "CANTABILE" Choir from Głubczyce, conducted by Ewa Maleńczyk, received a silver diploma in the mixed choir category (80 points).
  7. The "COMMENDO" Chamber Choir at the Ukrainian Basilian Fathers' Parish in Warsaw, conducted by Oresta Kinash, received a silver diploma in the chamber choir category (81 points).
  8. The "ZIEMIA CIESZYŃSKA" Song and Dance Ensemble Choir of Janina Marcinkowa from Cieszyn, conducted by Wojciech Trefon, received a gold diploma in the senior choir category (94 points).
  9. The children's choir "Armonia" from Preveza, directed by Anelja Stefanova, received a gold diploma in the children's choir category (97 points).
  10. The "Volantes Soni" Choir of Poznań University of Technology from Poznań, conducted by Paweł Łuczak, received a gold diploma in the academic choir category (99 points).
  11. The Academic Choir of the University of Warsaw from Warsaw, conducted by Irina Bogdanovich, received a gold diploma in the academic choir category (98 points).

The jury has decided to award the following distinctions and prizes:

 

  1. A special award for the most interesting interpretation of a sacred composition and a cash prize of 1000 PLN sponsored by Bishop Roman Pindel, the Ordinary of the Bielsko-Żywiec Diocese, goes to the Academic Choir of the University of Warsaw from Warsaw, conducted by Irina Bogdanovich, for their performance of Urmas Sisask's composition titled "Heliseb väljadel."
  2. A special award for the most interesting interpretation of a composition by a Polish composer and a cash prize of 1000 PLN sponsored by Bishop Adrian Korczago, Head of the Cieszyn Diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church, goes to the Academic Choir of the University of Warsaw from Warsaw, conducted by Irina Bogdanovich, for their performance of Jan Krutul's composition titled "Jubilate Deo."
  3. The Rector of the Academy of Music in Krakow Award for the best children's choir and a cash prize of 1000 PLN goes to the children's choir "Armonia" from Preveza, directed by Anelja Stefanova.
  4. The Rector of the Academy of Music in Katowice Award for promoting the traditions of Cieszyn Silesia and a cash prize of 1000 PLN sponsored by the Regional Cultural Center in Bielsko-Biała goes to the "ZIEMIA CIESZYŃSKA" Song and Dance Ensemble Choir, of Janina Marcinkowa from Cieszyn, conducted by Wojciech Trefon.
  5. Cash prizes of 500 PLN each for the most interesting interpretation of solo parts are awarded to Antonina Kraszewska (Chór Zespołu Pieśni i Tańca "ZIEMIA CIESZYŃSKA" of Janina Marcinkowa from Cieszyn) and Varvara Isis Ropoki (children's choir "Armonia" from Preveza).
  6. A special prize in the form of an exemption from the entry fee for the International Choral Festival and Competition "Canco Mediterrania" and the International Choral Competition "Pau Casals" in Barcelona and Lloret de Mar, Spain, goes to the Academic Choir of the University of Warsaw from Warsaw, conducted by Irina Bogdanovich.
  7. The Rector of the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz Award for the best festival conductor and a cash prize of 2000 PLN goes to Irina Bogdanovich, conductor of the Academic Choir of the University of Warsaw from Warsaw.
  8. A cash prize of 2000 PLN for first place in the children's choir category goes to the children's choir "Armonia" from Preveza, conducted by Anelja Stefanova.
  9. A cash prize of 2000 PLN for first place in the academic choir category goes to the "Volantes Soni" Choir of Poznań University of Technology from Poznań, conducted by Paweł Łuczak.
  10. A cash prize of 2000 PLN for first place in the senior choir category goes to the "ZIEMIA CIESZYŃSKA" Song and Dance Ensemble Choir, of Janina Marcinkowa from Cieszyn, conducted by Wojciech Trefon.
  11. The Bielsko County Cup for the best international choir and a cash prize of 1000 PLN goes to the children's choir "Armonia" from Preveza, conducted by Anelja Stefanova.

 





The Grand Prix of the competition, the President of the City of Bielsko-Biała Cup, the nomination to participate in the Grand Prix of Polish Choral Art Competition in honor of Stefan Stuligrosz in Poznań, and a cash prize of 6000 PLN are awarded to the "Volantes Soni" Choir of Poznań University of Technology from Poznań, conducted by Paweł Łuczak.
