which took place in Bielsko-Biała on October 19, 2024,
as part of the 19th International Choir Festival "Gaude Cantem"

After listening to fifteen choirs participating in the competition in the following categories: youth choirs, equal voice choirs, academic choirs, chamber choirs, mixed choirs, and senior choirs, the Jury presents the following results:
The “AKORD” Choir from Żywiec conducted by Sebastian Niemczycki received a bronze diploma in the senior choir category (61 points).
The “VILLA SCRIPTORIS” Choir from Pisarzowice conducted by Sebastian Niemczycki received a bronze diploma in the mixed choir category (60 points).
The “NA OBCASACH” Choir from Ozimek conducted by Paweł Wielgus received a bronze diploma in the senior choir category (67 points).
Chorus Polonicus Gothoburgensis from Geteborg (Sweden) conducted by Wojciech Głuch received a silver diploma in the senior choir category (88 points).
The “CITY CHOIR” from Wrocław conducted by Michał Klyszcz received a silver diploma in the mixed choir category (85 points).
The “GAUDENS GAUDEBO” Men's Ensemble from Rzeszów conducted by Marcel Kyc received a silver diploma in the chamber choir category (80 points).
The “VERAVOCE” Vocal Ensemble from Katowice conducted by Magdalena Przemyk received a gold diploma in the chamber choir category (95 points).
The “FOERSTER” Female Chamber Choir from Prague (Czech Republic) conducted by Jaroslav Brych received a gold diploma in the senior choir category (95 points).
The “FOERSTER” Female Chamber Choir from Prague (Czech Republic) conducted by Jaroslav Brych received a gold diploma in the equal voice choir category (96 points).
The “CORONA BOREALIS” Choir from Toruń conducted by Ariel Radomiński received a gold diploma in the mixed choir category (90 points).
The “CANTABILE” Girls' Choir of the Frederic Chopin State Music School of the First and Second Degreefrom Olsztyn conducted by Agata Wilińska received a gold diploma in the youth choir category (97 points).
The “SONARTE” Choral Ensemble from Radlin conducted by Tymoteusz Kubica received a gold diploma in the chamber choir category (91 points).
The Orfeón Universitario de la Universidad Central de Venezuela from Caracas (Venezuela) conducted by Raúla López Moreno received a gold diploma in the mixed choir category (94 points).
The “ANGELUS CANTAT” Choir from Głubczyce conducted by Tadeusz Eckert received a gold diploma in the mixed choir category (94 points).
The Choir of the University of Bielsko-Biała conducted by Jan Borowski received a gold diploma in the university choir category (99 points).
The jury has decided to award the following distinctions and prizes:
A special award in the form of an exemption from the entry fee for the International Choral Festival and Competition "Canco Mediterrania", the International Choral Competition "Pau Casals" in Barcelona, Lloret de Mar, Spain, goes to the “FOERSTER” Female Chamber Choir from Prague (Czech Republic) conducted by Jaroslav Brych.
A special award for best international choir goes to the “FOERSTER” Female Chamber Choir from Prague (Czech Republic) conducted by Jaroslav Brych.
A special award for the best choir of the Bielsko-Biala branch of the PZChiO goes to the Choir of the University of Bielsko-Biała conducted by Jan Borowski.
A special award for the most interesting interpretation of a composition by a Polish composer and a cash prize of 1000 PLN sponsored by Bishop Adrian Korczago, Head of the Cieszyn Diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church, goes to the Choir of the University of Bielsko-Biała conducted by Jan Borowski, for their performance of Jan Krutula’s composition titled "O magnum mysterium".
The Rector of the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz Award for the best festival conductor and a cash prize of 1000 PLN goes to Jan Borowski conductor of the Choir of the University of Bielsko-Biała.
The Rector of the Academy of Music in Kraków Award for the best youth choir and a cash prize of 1000 PLN for first place in the youth choir category, funded by the Regional Cultural Center in Bielsko-Biała, goes to the “CANTABILE” Girls' Choir of the Frederic Chopin State Music School of the First and Second Degree from Olsztyn conducted by Agata Wilińska.
A cash prize of 1000 PLN for first place in the equal voice category goes to the “FOERSTER” Female Chamber Choir from Prague (Czech Republic) conducted by Jaroslav Brych.
The Rector of the Academy of Music in Katowice Award for the best senior choir and a cash prize of 1000 PLN for first place in the senior choir category goes to “FOERSTER” Female Chamber Choir from Prague (Czech Republic) conducted by Jaroslav Brych.
A cash prize of 1000 PLN for first place in the chamber choir category goes to the “VERAVOCE” Vocal Ensemble from Katowice conducted by Magdalena Przemyk.
A cash prize of 1000 PLN for first placeex aequo in the mixed choir category goes to the Orfeón Universitario de la Universidad Central de Venezuela from Caracas (Venezuela) conducted by Raúla López Moreno.
A cash prize of 1000 PLN for first placeex aequo in the mixed choir category goes to the “ANGELUS CANTAT” Choir from Głubczyce conducted by Tadeusz Eckert.
A special award for the most interesting interpretation of a sacred composition and a cash prize of 1200 PLN sponsored by Bishop Roman Pindel, the Ordinary of the Bielsko-Żywiec Diocese, goes to the Choir of the University of Bielsko-Biała conducted by Jan Borowski, for their performance of Marek Raczyński’s composition titled "Jubilate Deo omnis terra".
The Grand Prix Cup of the competition, the nomination to participate in the Grand Prix of Polish Choral Art Competition in honor of Stefan Stuligrosz in Poznań, and a cash prize of 5000 PLN are awarded to the Choir of the University of Bielsko-Biała conducted by Jan Borowski.
The Jury wishes to emphasize the exceptionally high artistic level of this year's Competition, the professional level of the festival's organization and the excellent conditions resulting from the involvement of the city, regional and church authorities and the management of the Bielsko-Biała State Music School Complex.
The Jury extends special thanks to the festival director, Mr. Krzysztof Przemyk, and all collaborators who are the “spiritus movens” of this extraordinary artistic event.
